The English Cricket Board new batting coach


LONDON: The English Cricket Board has appointed former opener Marcus Trescothick as the batting coach of the England cricket team.

According to the English Cricket Board, Marcus Trescothick will take over as batting coach in mid-March after resigning as assistant coach of the summer set.

The English board has appointed John Lewis and spinner Jaiten Patel as bowling coaches

Trescothick, Lewis, and Patel will join the national coaching setup, which includes chief coach Chris Silverwood and assistant coaches Graham Thorpe and Paul Collingwood.

Marcus Trescothick has scored more than 10,000 runs in international cricket.

Trescothick represented England in 76 Tests and scored 5825 runs at an average of 43.79. Trescothick played 123 ODIs and scored 4335 runs at an average of 37.37.

It may be recalled that the Test series between India and England is underway these days, India has taken a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
